Malcolm and Family,
I am saddened at your Dad's passing. I truly believe his work as a history teacher help shape many of my ideas about life and the fact that the study of history will predict the future. Your Dad was correct in his idea that without studying history we are doomed to make the same mistakes over and over. He was truly a deep well of knowledge to all that knew him. The World is a lesser place without him.

Dave

I started teaching Social Studies at Knox High School in 1973. Mr. Simmons definitely knew his history! May he Rest In Peace. . . . I really appreciated that he took the time along with Mr. Henriott to visit me at the Catherine Kaspar Nursing Home, after my 2008 car accident. Due to the weather conditions and my mobility problems, I was not able to attend his funeral services. Deepest sympathies to the Simmons family. May you find comfort in your happy memories with Mr. Simmons as the family patriarch.
