Donald T Shorter

Donald T. Shorter, 86 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born Sunday, February 27, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois, Son of the late Earl Shorter and the late Emily(Fort) Shorter.

September 29, 1962, in Knox, Indiana, Donald married the former Barbara Sue King, she preceded him on June 15, 2012.

Donald was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.  He was a master at carpentry and woodworking.  He enjoyed fishing, going on vacations and model airplanes.  Donald was a wonderful father and grandfather and loved his time spent with his family.

He worked as a machinist  for Joy.

Surviving are Son, Allen(Noreen) Shorter of Houston, Texas, Daughter, Amber "Amy"(Edward)  Smith of Fort Wayne, Indiana, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, Sister, Earlene Blount of North Judson, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue Shorter, parents Earl and Emily Shorter and brother Lester Shorter.

Friends will be received 4 PM to 8 PM, Friday, April 12, 2024 at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, Indiana.

Services will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11 AM.

Interment will follow in the Highland  Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Heartland Hospice of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
