Wilgus Puckett, age 86, of Knox, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 21, 2024, with his loving family beside him.

Wilgus was born on January 31, 1938, at the head of Peg in Rose Fork, KY to the late Caloway and Lou (Bryant) Puckett.

Wilgus accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the First Baptist Church in Knox in 1955. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Plymouth, Indiana, where he faithfully attended until his illness.

Wilgus's greatest love was serving the Lord and spending time with his family. He loved the simple things of life, going to state parks and teaching his sons and grandchildren about God's great beauty. His favorite place was Spring Mill State Park.

He is survived by his wife, Judy (Hall), of 64 years. three sons, David (Glenda), of Hamlet, Indiana, Jeff (Verna Jean), of La Porte, Indiana, Todd (Leah), of West Chester, Ohio, 10 grandchidren, Melissa (Dustin) Musselman, Amber (Johnny) Beauchamp, Amanda (Caleb) York, Kayla (Andy) VanVolkenburg, Emilee (Joel) Yakym, Elizabeth (Jordan) Huffman, Clint (Amie) Puckett, Chad (LaQuita Williams) Puckett, Noah Puckett, and Hannah (Hunter) Bitner, 25 great-grandchildren, and expecting their first great-great-grandson.

Also surviving are sisters Donna (Ron) Scott, Wilma (John) Palm and brothers Ralph (Shelby) Puckett, Henry Puckett, and Caloway (Nancy) Puckett, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Cathie Eilers, Jeri Wittchen, Fannie Smith, and sister-in-law Dorothy Puckett.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 13 at 12 Noon Eastern (11:00 a.m. Central Time) at Faith Baptist Church, 12987 Peach Rd., Plymouth, Indiana, with Pastor Paul Whitworth. A time of remembrance and fellowship will take place one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be private.
