Terry Wayne Cable

Terry Wayne Cable ("Redman"), age 73, was born on November 17, 1951, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to the late John Cable and Helen Hillard Cable. On January 13, 2025, he passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer at his home surrounded by his loving family in Knox, Indiana.

Terry was the beloved husband to the late Marilyn J. Cable, who passed away on February 11, 2006. He was the devoted father of Carrie (Shane) Aaron of Knox, Indiana, and Stephanie (Matthew) White of North Judson, Indiana, and the loving papaw of Kara Aaron and Kameron Aaron of Knox, Indiana, and Lauren White and Brayden White of North Judson, Indiana. He was also a proud grand-papaw to Scarlett Carter of Knox, Indiana. On December 31, 2021, he married Sheila Miller Cable, and they would go on to share three wonderful years together.

Terry dedicated over 40 years of his life to his work as a Heating and Air Technician at Bethlehem Steel Mill/Arcelor Mittel. Known for his expertise, tireless work ethic, and dedication to his craft, he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and supervisors. 

Beyond his work, Terry had a wide array of hobbies and interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He loved raising farm animals, spending time hunting and fishing, and embarking on motorcycle adventures. Some of his favorite memories were of riding ATVs and UTVs with family and friends in the mountains of Tennessee and Kentucky. Over the years, Terry spent countless hours restoring cars, with one of his proudest accomplishments being the restoration of his cherished 1956 Chevy Stepside Truck.

Terry's love of spending time outdoors also extended to relaxing at his pond, working in his garage, and sitting on his porch while listening to a good thunderstorm. He cherished the simple joys in life and always made time for friends and family. Terry enjoyed gathering with his friends at Birdie's, his favorite coffee shop, and even after retirement, he continued to meet with his former coworkers monthly to reminisce about the "good ol' days."

Terry's greatest love, however, was for his family. He was deeply devoted to his daughters and grandchildren, always eager to participate in their lives, whether it was having a cookout, helping out with home construction projects, swimming, or attending their various school events. He treasured these moments and was always present, offering his love and support.

Terry is survived by his wife, Sheila Miller Cable; his daughters, Stephanie (Matthew) White of North Judson, Indiana, and Carrie (Shane) Aaron of Knox, Indiana; his grandchildren, Kara Aaron and Kameron Aaron of Knox, Indiana, and Lauren White and Brayden White of North Judson, Indiana; his great-granddaughter, Scarlett Carter of Knox, Indiana; his surviving brothers, Jim (Sharon) Cable of Wanatah, Indiana, Glen (Patty) Cable of South Haven, Indiana, Dan (Mary) Cable of Wanatah, Indiana, and Randy (Vickie) Cable of Portage, Indiana; his surviving sisters, Carol (Lauren) Edelen of Portage, Indiana, Mary Smith of Portage, Indiana, and Grace Cable of Portage, Indiana; and many other family members and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Cable, and his brothers, Darryl Cable and Butch Cable, and his first wife, Marilyn J. Cable.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 10 AM till time of service at 1 PM at the Braman and Son Memorial Chapel in Knox, Indiana.  Services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 1 PM with Pastor Jeff McGehee officiating.  Braman and Son Memorial Chapel of Knox, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.

Terry's memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
