Sylvester "Sadie" I. Hittle

Sylvester I. “Sadie” Hittle, age 93, of North Judson, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Life Care Center in Rochester, Indiana.

Sadie was born on July 7, 1929, in Gary, IN, to the late Iden and Gladys Bodamer Hittle. He moved at a young age from Valparaiso to North Judson, where he lived for the past 78 years. Sadie was a retired material handler for Rexam Packaging and Containers in Valparaiso. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed many activities, but nothing more than playing golf. He enjoyed doing almost everything outdoors, including hunting (especially deer), fishing, and working in his yard. He always appreciated the time spent with his family,

On July 30, 1950, in North Judson, IN, Sadie married Doris Whybrew, who survives. Other survivors include one son, Lance (Lori) Hittle of Monterey, and four daughters, Cathy (Lewis) Mann of Logansport, Franna (Bob) Barger of Winamac,  Sherri (Terry Gorst) Hittle, of Athens, WI, and Rita (Chuck) Collins, of Denham. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Elton (Bev) and Frank, of Sauk Centre, MN, and Charles (Sharon), of Frazee, MN. One sister, Viola Pfieffer, of Fridley, WI.

In addition to his parents, Sadie was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Eric.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Central Time) on Saturday, April 1 at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home, 6020 S. Oakwood Ave., North Judson, IN.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. (Central Time) on Saturday, April 1 at Braman & Bailey with Pastor Janet Weddle Begley presiding. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in North Judson.
