Shirley Ann Grund

Shirley Ann Grund, 101 years old of Sun City Center, Florida, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025 in Sun City Center, Florida.

She was born Tuesday, September 16, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, Daughter of the late Alfred G. Meyer and the late Catherine (Miller) Meyer.

Shirley married Ernest Grund on August 12, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois. They were married for 56 years before he preceded her in death on April 4, 2007.

Shirley, as a homemaker and mother, lived in Crown Point, Indiana, for many years before retiring to Bass Lake in Knox, Indiana in 1987 with her husband  Ernest.  While living at Bass Lake, she was very active in her local church, Bible Baptist Church, especially enjoying the fellowship of the Jolly 60's group.  She was also active in her community where she led a women's Bible study at the local jail for many years and served as the secretary for the Bass Lake Neighborhood Watch Association.  There she diligently recorded and managed the meeting minutes and other activities of the organization.  Six years ago, she moved from Bass Lake to reside at Aston Gardens in Sun City Center, Florida.  

Surviving are Daughter & Son-in-Law, Melanie (Terry) Rowe of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, Daughter & Son-in-Law, Carol (Martin) Kobler of Apollo Beach, Florida, 4  Grandchildren and  3 Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Grund, daughter Laurel (Larry) Zatorski,  parents Alfred G. Meyer and Catherine Miller Meyer 

Friends will be received 12 PM till time of service at 2 PM CST, Saturday, October 25 at the Bible Baptist Church, Knox, Indiana.

Services will be held at Bible Baptist Church, Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 2 PM CST with  Rev. James Adcock officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bass Lake Cemetery, Bass Lake Indiana,   

Memorials may be made to Life Path Hospice located in Temple Terrace, Florida.
