Rodney Bliss, Sr.

Rodney W. Bliss, Sr., age 89, of Knox passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, in his home. In Hammond, Indiana, Rodney was born on March 12, 1935, the son of the late Orville and the late Elizabeth (VerBerkmoes) Bliss. 

On May 31, 1958, in Hammond, Indiana, Rodney married Charlotte Shaffer.

Rodney worked as a supervisor for NIPSCO. He enjoyed spending time playing cards with his family at casinos. He was also an avid bowler.

Surviving are a son, Rodney (Crystal) Bliss, Jr., of Knox, five daughters, Sherry Pinney, of Winamac, Indiana, Vickie (Michael) Miller, of North Judson, Indiana, Charlotte (Roger) Griffith, of Knox, Sandra (Dave) Lembke, of Beauville, North Carolina, and Margaret (Nathan) Nichols, of Koontz Lake, 24 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte, a brother, Darrell Bliss, and two sisters, Sylvia Bliss and Ada Saunders. 

A private family service is planned.
