Roberta "Birdie" Howard

Roberta "Birdie" Howard 87 years young of North Judson, Indiana passed away Monday, May 30, 2022. Birdie was born to Andrew and Martha Russell on August 1, 1934. She was married to Jack "Chet" Howard on February 9, 1950 in Rensselaer, Indiana.  They settled in North Judson, Indiana and raised their six children:  Catherine(Dale) Carter of Rensselaer, Indiana, Collette(Manual) Prater of North Judson, Indiana, Pamela Troike of Rensselaer, Indiana and Connie(Mark) Stacy of Winamac, Indiana, David Howard and Mark Howard of North Judson.

Birdie had a heart of gold and loved everyone.  Her greatest joys in life were spending time with her husband and family.  She also enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking.  She was known for her baking and her apple slices couldn't be beat.  You couldn't walk into her home without her wanting to feed you something.

Birdie loved the Lord and going to church.  She attended Goodway Baptist Church and Twin Bridges Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her four beloved daughters Collette Prater, Connie Stacy, Pamela Troike and Catherine Carter.  

Birdie had 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Birdie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack Howard, son's David Howard and Mark Howard, granddaughter Stacy Smith, grandsons Jeremy Troike, Michael Garbison and Matthew Garbison, great grand daughter Kendall Minix, sisters Sarah Clemons, Mary Howard, Arnold Russell, James Russell, William Russell and Harold Russell.  She had three surviving siblings: sister Brenda Frasure of Denham, Indiana, sister Jeanette Caesar of North Judson, Indiana and brother Andrew Russell Jr. of Kentucky.

Services will be held Thursday June 2, 2022 from 11 AM till time of services at 1 PM at Braman and Bailey Funeral Home in North Judson, Indiana.  Birdie will be laid to rest at the Highland Cemetery in North Judson, Indiana following the services.
