Ricky W. Whitten

Ricky W. Whitten, 61 years old of Hammond, Indiana, passed away, surround by his loving family, Wednesday, July 12, 2023 in Hamond, Indiana.

He was born Friday, January 12, 1962 in East Chicago, Indiana, Son of the late Marvedene(Doolin) Tate.

Ricky enjoyed his time outdoors- fishing, camping and riding bicycles.  In his past-time he enjoyed collecting coins.  His greatest passion was spending time with his family, children and grandchildren.

Surviving are Daughter, Tabatha(Ed) Kretchmer-Moore of Winamac, Indiana, Daughter, Tiffany(Jay) Kretchmer of North Judson, Indiana, Companion, Diana Kretchmer of North Judson, Indiana, Brother, Brian(Pamela) Whitten of Owensboro, Kentucky, 3 grandchildren, Nephew, Brian Michael Dean Whitten of Owensboro, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father Marvedene and Bill Tate and brother William Whitten.

Friends will be received 3 PM till time of service at 6 PM, Thursday, July 20 at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, Indiana with Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating.

Services will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Fordsville, Kentucky, Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 12 PM with visitation a half hour before.

Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Fordsville, Kentucky.

Memorials may be given American Cancer Society or Riley's Children Hospital.
