Regenia Banks was brought into this world in Paintsville, Kentucky on the last day of 1963, as God chose to end the year with a precious beginning. Her beloved parents were Juanita Banks Philpot and Eugene Banks, both preceding her in passing from this life to the next, in addition to her loving husband of 23 years Mike Agee who was recently called home in December. The love in Regenia's extraordinary heart encompassed everyone who came in contact with her, but none more than the 6 children she poured her life into raising. Her heart was irreparably broken in 2008 when her beautiful pride and joy, daughter Anita Marie, unexpectedly left this world before her. Family is comforted knowing she was one of many who anxiously welcomed our sister into Heaven. Waiting for the day to be reunited with them are regenia's sons Scott and Travis, and daughters Genelle, Hanna, and Gracie. As the oldest of 5 children, Regenia also leaves behind the younger brothers, Steven and Tony, and sisters, Michelle and Brenda, she had a strong hand in helping to raise. Regenia instilled a fabulous work ethic in all, as she was a hard worker all of her life until she began her courageous health battles. She worked long hours in factories, until landing her most loved and deserved job working in a residential group home with developmentally disabled people who adored her. Her strong work ethic was second only to the unwavering faith in Jesus Christ she had and shared with us. She was the first to attend Full Gospel Assembly church as a child, and, like ducks in a row, brothers and sisters soon followed. Pastors Jack and Phyllis Hudgens were detrimental in providing the teaching and shining examples of God's love and grace that would pave the foundation of Regenia's faith. She loved them beyond measure and remained close to them until her passing, thinking of them as her second parents. Regenia's love of Jesus showed strongest when she used her beautiful voice to worship in song. Although it took every ounce of strength she had just to talk, she blessed the family of God with her last song at morning service just weeks before going home. Regenia was surrounded by family, holding her hands, singing, praying, and sharing precious memories together up until she left this world for the place she truly deserved and wanted to be. Our beautiful mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and best friend experienced her glorious homecoming on June 2, 2021. She will be immensely missed by all, yet we smile through our tears to imagine what her eyes now see and know that we will share it with her one day.
