Phyllis Ann Summey

Phyllis Ann Summey, 81 of Knox, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025 in La Porte, Indiana.

She was born Wednesday, May 10, 1944 in Gypsy, KY, the daughter of the late Lewis Whitaker and the late Lavotis Whitaker Minix.

Phyllis loved to play bingo and going to yard sales.  She also loved shopping, sewing, and going to the casinos.

She worked in retail sales and owned a drapery store.

Surviving are her Son, Victory "Troy" (Cindy) Gayheart of Plainwell, MI, Daughter, Lavotis French of Knox, IN, Brother, Wiley Jay Howard of Knox, IN, Sister, Ellen Whitaker of Plainwell, MI, Sister, Wanda Dugard of Indianapolis, IN, Sister, Rita Long of Plymouth, IN, and Sister, Donna (Craig) Stiles of Plymouth, IN 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and special friend Debra Clemons of Knox, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, James Summey,  her Parents, two Sons Jessie Dube Patrick and Corbin Smooch Gayheart, Brother Henry Whitaker, and four Sisters Pauline Gill, Betty Gayheart, Barbara Risner, and Carol Jean Risner.
