Philip Kelley Obituary

Philip C. Kelley, 79, of Knox, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Northwest Health - La Porte. Son of the late Carl Kelley and the late Marjorie (Engelbrecht) Kelley, Philip was born on October 17, 1945, in Gary, Indiana.

On March 18, 1982, Philip married Mary (Collins) Kelley in Las Vegas, Nevada. He spent most of his life in Starke County, retiring as a supervisor at  ArcelorMittal in Burns Harbor, Indiana. Philip was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Judson. His many passions included hunting, fishing, and working on cars. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan, but more than anything, he loved spending time with his family, and especially his grandchildren. 

In addition to his wife, Mary, of Knox, Philip is survived by his son, Kyle Kelley, daughters Carla (Mike) Kelley and Kendra (William) Trent, all of Knox, four brothers, Mike (Edwina) Kelley of St. Louis, Missouri, Kevin Kelley of Vienna, Austria, Patrick (Laura) Kelley of Carmel, Indiana, and Tom (Linda) Goeddel of Fair Haven, New Jersey, three sisters, Nancy Gahl of Zionsville, Indiana, Mary (Brett) Freedman of Rochester, Minnesota, and Kathy Goeddel of Portland, Oregon, and eight grandchildren. 

Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Marjorie Kelley, and his stepmother, Kaye Kelley.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Central Time on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home in North Judson with the Rev. Daniel Speckhard officiating. Friends and family will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in North Judson 

Memorial contributions may be made in Philip's name to St. Peter Lutheran Church of North Judson.
