MaryAnn Kwilin, age 90, of Knox, passed away on Saturday, July 4th, 2026, in her home. Born on October 19, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Gasienica) Janowicz, Mary later moved to Knox, where she lived for the past 30 years. She spent her life caring for her family as a very productive homemaker.
A devoted Christian, MaryAnn had many passions, including spending time as a private home health worker who gave others the will to live. Her focus was on caring for others in need. She was an excellent seamstress, baker, and cook. Her other interests included arts & crafts, and taking care of her flowers, especially her Morning Glory arch and Rose of Sharon plants around her home. MaryAnn was witty and had a great sense of humor. She loved to sing with her children and always had a song to share, whatever the occasion. Most of all, she loved being a devoted mother and grandmother.
MaryAnn is survived by a son, Daniel Kwilin, of Knox, three daughters, Kathy Kwilin Zink and Sandra Kwilin Furlong, both of Knox, and Tammy (Bruce) Vogele, of La Grange, Illinois, eight grandchildren, Amanda, Matthew, Adam, Ashley, Nathaniel, Nicole, Alexander, and Ariel, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Bernadine Murray, and her grandson, Patrick Furlong.
Graveside services will take place on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. CDT at Oak Park Cemetery in Knox. Rev. James Adcock will officiate.
Braman & Son Memorial Chapel of Knox is in charge of arrangements.
