Mark H Simpkins, 65 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021 in Laporte, Indiana.
He was born Wednesday, March 14, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois, Son of the late Shirley Simpkins and the late Winifred(Kamba) Simpkins.
February 12, 1988, in Elkhart, Indiana, Mark married Andrea Estlund, she survives him.
Mark was a member of the United Steel Workers Union. He was also a member of the Starke County Park Board, Knox City Planning Commission and the B.Z.A Board. Mark enjoyed playing guitar and playing in local bands and The Street Survivors.His greatest passion was spending time with his family, children and grandchildren.
He worked as a Journeymen- Millwright for US Steel .
Surviving are his wife, Andrea Simpkins of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Rachael(Patrick) Martin of Laporte, Indiana, Son, Joshua Simpkins of Laporte, Indiana, 4 grandchildren 1 great- grandchild, Sister, Kathy(John) Norem of Knox, Indiana, Sister, Karen Ketner of Laporte, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by parents Shirley and Winifred Simpkins, brothers Stevan and Michael Simpkins.
Friends will be received 4 PM to 8 PM, Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, Indiana.
Services will be held at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Monday, December 20, 2021 at 1 PM.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Winifred Simpkins spirit of nursing scholarship fund.
