Marilyn J. McCorkel

Marilyn J. McCorkel, 84 years old of Chesterton, Indiana, formally of North Judson, Indiana,  passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024 in Valparaiso, Indiana.

She was born Tuesday, March 5, 1940 in Knox, Indiana, Daughter of the late Offley Highwood and the late Verna(Pirrung) Highwood.

Marilyn was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Chesteron Fire Department.  She enjoyed listening to country music, going to festivals and traveling.  Marilyn was a great mom and loved spending time with her family.

She worked as a realtor.

Surviving are Daughter, Julie McCorkel of Chesterton, Indiana, Son, Harold McCorkel Jr. of North Judson, Indiana, Sister-in-law, Nancy Highwood of Chesterton, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold McCorkel and  brother Warren Highwood and parents Offley and Verna Highwood.

Graveside Services will be held at Highland Cemetery, Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 11 AM.

Interment will follow in the Highland Cemetery, North Judson, Indiana.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's children's hospital.
