Marcum "Nig" Fletcher, 87 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

He was born Monday, March 29, 1937 in Salyersville, Kentucky, Son of the late Asbury Fletcher and the late Maryethel(Montgomery) Fletcher.

August 16, 1969 in Laporte, Indiana, Marcum married Lola Salyer, she survives him. 

Nig was a member of the Aldine United Baptist Church, where he served as pastor for many years.  He also served and attended many churches in the community.  Nig was retired from the US Army after 12 years of service as a sergent.  He retired from Howmet Corporation in Laporte, Indiana.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and attending church.  Nig's greatest passion was spending time with his wife, family, children and many grandchildren.

Surviving are  his wife, Lola Fletcher and Daughter, Diana Fisher of North Judson, Indiana, Daughter, Barb(Darl) Clemons of Monticello, Indiana, Daughter, Tammy(Craig) Behrendt of Sevierville, Tennessee, Daughter, Diane(Scott) McCauley of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Daughter, Lisa(John)  Eubanks of Crossville, Tennessee, Son, Michael(Melissa) Fletcher of Knox, Indiana, Son, Manuel(Amberly) Fletcher of North Judson, Indiana, 15 grandchildren: Josua(Jolene) Manns, Jeremy(Jamie) Manns, Joseph Manns, Amy(Tim) Stacy, Joshua Freyenberger, Amanda(Joel) Hernandez, Nicole Yingling, Todd Yingling, Mason Trusty, Preston Fletcher, Grant Fletcher, Logan Fletcher, Kennly(Noah) Brehmer, Levi Fletcher, Liam Fletcher, 27 great-grandchildren 7 great-great-grandchildren, Brother, Hillard  Fletcher of North Judson, Indiana, Sister, Cleada(Danny) Arbuckle of Valparaiso, Indiana, Sister, Mabel(Eddie) Starkle of North Judson, Indiana, Sister, Avanell Mason, New York, Sister, Ethel Pariso, Alabama, Brother, Chat(Sharon) Fletcher of North Judson, Indiana, Brother, Robby Fletcher of Knox, Indiana, Brother, Roy Fletcher of Knox, Indiana, Sister, Ruth(Dominque) Vandola, Georgia, Sister, Patricia(Phillip) Rudd of Goshen, Indiana, Sister, Janice(Curtis) Ropp, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by parents Asbury and Maryethel Fletcher, son Marty L. Fletcher, grandson Brent Lee Freyenberger, brothers Billy and Wayne Fletcher and sisters Evalece Miller, Mavadean Fletcher and Velva Jane Salyer .

Friends will be received 10 AM till time of service at 2 PM, Saturday, June 1  at the Braman & Bailey Funeral Home, North Judson, Indiana.

Services will be held at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home, Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 2 PM with Rev. Mike Noble, Rev Fred Miller officiating.

Interment will follow in the Round Lake Cemetery, Knox, Indiana .

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
