Larry Joe Harris

Larry Joe Harris, 75 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in Knox, Indiana.

He was born Friday, March 19, 1948 in Laporte, Indiana, Son of the late Albert "Bub" Harris and the late Printha(Hurt) Harris.

Larry was a member of the Knox Masonic Lodge #639, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend  and Orak Shrine in Michigan City.  He was a member of the Knox United Methodist church and participated in the Youth Fellowship when he was younger.  Larry was a graduating member of the Knox High School Class of 1966 and received his Bachelor degree from Taylor University.   Larry was the Starke County local office director for the Department of Child Services.  He was also heavily involved in the Starke County court, being a court advocate and a CASA volunteer.

Surviving are Cousin, Joe Hurtsellers of Maumee, Ohio, Cousin, James Hurtsellers of Atlanta, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by parents Albert and Printha Harris.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 from 5 PM to 7 PM with a Masonic service starting at 6 :30 PM and a service to follow at 7 PM with Rev. Jim Hurtsellers officiating.  Braman & Son Memorial Chapel of  Knox, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.

Interment will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox, Indiana.
