Johnny Robert Lullenberg

Johnny Robert Lullenberg departed peacefully at home to his eternal reward on Friday, October 20, 2023.

Johnny was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 27, 1943 to Beatrice Sullivan.

January 14, 1967, in Wheatfield, Indiana, Johnny married Betty Jean Frinkel, who loved and cared for him to the very end. 

Johnny was employed by American National Can in Laporte, Indiana, where he worked for 28 years before retiring early due to a disability.  Johnny became a christian in 1964.  In 1972, he answered the call of God to preach the word of truth.  During his tenure he pastored Lakeland First Love Baptist Church in North Manchester, Indiana and he served as an assistant Pastor at Ober United Baptist Church the past 15 years.  In this 50 year time frame he also helped many pastors in different local churches.  He also preached many revivals, witnessing many people accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, while Baptizing hundreds over his 59 years of ministry.  His many travels spand over several states, like Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Tennessee.  Johnny and Betty enjoyed their yearly trips to the Breaks Interstate Park in the mountains of Kentucky and Virginia every Labor Day weekend to worship with Southern Gospel singing groups.  

Johnny and Betty had 7 children: Daughter, April Lullenberg of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Freda (Michael) Childers of Knox, Indiana, Son, John Lullenberg of Kokomo, Indiana, Daughter, Rebeckah(Marlon) Reynolds of Laporte, Indiana,  Daughter, Jessica Lullenberg of Michigan City, Indiana, Daughter, Brenda Lullenberg of Knox, Indiana. 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Johnny was preceded in death by his son Wayne Lullenberg , granddaughter Mahala Syntha Childers and mother Beatrice Sullivan.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 11 AM till time of service at 1 PM at the Braman and Bailey Funeral Home in North Judson, Indiana.

Services will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 1 PM, at the Braman and Bailey Funeral Home in North Judson, Indiana with Pastor Rick Prater and Pastor Larry Ludwig officiating.

Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in North Judson, Indiana.
