Jeffery Dean Harness

Jeffery  Harness, 75 years old of Knox, Indiana, died Monday, November 27, 2023 in Winamac, Indiana.

He was born Monday, June 28, 1948 in Laporte, Indiana, Son of the late Edwin Harness and the late Lela(Cox) Harness.

On September 23, 1972 he married Patricia Ayers, who preceded him in death in 2019.

Jeffery was a purple heart veteran of the Army, serving in Vietnam.  After 35 years he retired from Inland Steele.  He was a member of the Knox VFW and also the Hamlet American Legion.

Surviving are Brother, Jerry Harness, of  Ockawaha, Florida, Sister, Susan Fort of Knox, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Harness, parents Edwin and Lela Harness, four brothers and 3 sisters: Vern, Lawrence, Merrill, Dick, Loretta Pozorski, Mila Young and Peggy Harness.  

Friends will be received 1 PM till time of service at 2 PM, Sunday, December 3, 2023 at the Hamlet United Methodist Church, Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox of Indiana is in charge of arrangements.

Services will be held at Hamlet United Methodist Church, Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 2:30  PM with Pastor Deborah Miller officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fletcher Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital
