Janet Elizabeth Wilde

Janet Elizabeth Wilde, 73, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.

Janet was born on April 11, 1950, in Gary, Indiana to John and Arlys(Downey) Bowers.

On March 1, 1969, she married her high school sweetheart Larry and was looking forward to celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary.  She is survived by her husband Larry, son Doug(Wendy) of North Judson, 2 grandsons Brice of Bollingbrook, Illinois and Brennan Wilde of Kouts, Indiana, siblings Judi(Jim) Pingel of North Judson, Indiana and Joanne(Russ) Anderson of Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother John(Nancy) Bowers.

If you ever had a conversation with Janet you quickly learned she loved her immediate family and traveling.  She cheered on and supported her family in whatever endeavors they chose.  She was involved in 4H and attended NJSP sports supporting her son and grandsons.  Janet talked to everyone, making them feel comfortable in her presence often encouraging others to greater things.  Janet was the "go to" person in the family for anything that required a methodical and level head in making decisions.  As outgoing as Janet was she was also a homebody and loved to read and listen to music.

Janet worked at Ribordy's prior to transitioning into banking and worked her way to bank manager at First Farmers bank before retiring in 2017,

As per Janet's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Memorial donations can be made to the Starke County 4H.
