Janet Marie McFarland Welter, 85 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023 in Knox, Indiana.

She was born Monday, May 23, 1938 in Knox, Indiana, Daughter of the late Frank McFarland and the late Anna May (Weaver) Reamer.

Janet was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.  She enjoyed studying genealogy.

She worked as a  Telephone operator.

Surviving are Daughter, Kathleen Ann  Gates of  San Diego, California, 2 grandchildren 3 great-grandchildren, Brother, James(Starene) Paul McFarland of Lake Side , California, Sister, Joyce(Carl) Bush of LaPorte, Indiana, cousin James McFarland of Knox, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Welter, son Kenneth Goble Jr. ,  parents Frank McFarland and Anna May Reamer, brothers Frank, Gene and Burton McFarland.

Burial of Janet McFarland and her brother Burton McFarland cremains will be held at Round Lake Cemetery in Knox, Indiana on December 14, 2023 at 1 PM, Braman and Son Memorial Chapel of Knox, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.

Interment will follow in the Round Lake Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St.Thomas Catholic Church.
