James "Jim" E. Beron, 82 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025 in Knox, Indiana.
He was born Friday, May 29, 1942 in Laporte, Indiana, Son of the late Willard Beron and the late Marie(Stickley) Hardesty.
November 21, 1970 in Knox, Indiana, Jim married Patricia Murphy, she preceded him.
Jim was a member of the Hamlet American Legion and the Hamlet Lions Club. He was a US Army Veteran having been stationed in Korea. Jim was a past member of the Crown Hill Cemetery Board and a member of the United States Standard Breed Association for Harness Racing. He enjoyed bailing hay and racing horses. He was a huge Bobby Knight fan and Oregon Davis Girls and Boys Basketball fan. Jim enjoyed collecting antique tractors. His greatest passion was spending time on his family goat farm and spending time with his family and grand daughter.
He worked for Ford Motor Company and owned a barber shop.
Surviving are Son, Mike(Sonja) Beron of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Kathy Beron of Knox, Indiana, Granddaughter, Rashell Beron of Knox, Indiana, Sister Beverly Beron Ault of Plymouth, Indiana, Brother, Max(Theda) Hardesty of Knox, Indiana, Brother, John(Brie) Hardesty of Koontz Lake, Indiana, Sister, Karen Hardesty Slone of Hamlet, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Beron and mother and step father Marie and Lyman Max Hardesty, father Willard Beron.
Friends will be received 4 PM to 8 PM, Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, Indiana.
Services will be held at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11 AM with Rev Bruce Bennett officiating.
Interment will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery, Knox, IN 46534.
Memorials may be made to the Starke County Freedom Riders.
