James "Jim" Bailey Obituary

James "Jim"  R Bailey, 70 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away, surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, June 30, 2026 in Northwest Health Laporte, Indiana after a short illness.

He was born Wednesday, April 25, 1956 in Knox, Indiana, Son of the late Verl Bailey and the late Frances(Miller) Bailey.

Jim was a member of  MOPAR National and the Country Kettle coffee "club".  He enjoyed camping and grilling out.  Jim enjoyed riding his motorcycle and his race cars.  Jim was a guy who loved to have fun and laugh and if he considered you a friend he would do anything for you.  Jim's greatest passion was spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

He worked as a self-employed truck driver.

Surviving are Wife, Helen Dillard of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Rosie "Audrey" Abner of Indianapolis, Indiana, Daughter, Crystal(Brandon) Eskew of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Brittany(Cody) Wielgos of Knox, Indiana, 8 grandchildren: Jonas Abner of Indianapolis, Indiana, Steven Rudd of Knox, Indiana, Cohen Eskew of Knox, Indiana, Claire Eskew of Knox, Indiana, Danica Wielgos of Knox, Indiana, Emilia Eskew of Knox, Indiana, Wrenley Wielgos of Knox, Indiana, Brother, Jack(Barb) Bailey of Knox, Indiana, Sister, Bonnie(Arnold) Keeton of Knox, Indiana, Sister, Brenda Kletz of Mishawaka, Indiana, Sister, Karen(Mike) Baker of Knox, Indiana, Sister, Kathy(John) Cross of Algoma, Wisconsin, Sister, Mary Beth(Mike) Fornelli of Knox, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents Verl and Frances Bailey and granddaughter Owen Eskew.

Friends will be received 11 AM till time of service at 1 PM CST , Tuesday, July 7 at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, Indiana.

Services will be held at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 1 PM CST with Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating.

Interment will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery, Knox, IN  46534.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Riley Hospital for Children,  Starke Co Humane Society and Braman and Son Memorial Chapel.
