James Nelson Smith, age 54, of North Judson, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, in Knox, Indiana..

In Hammond, Indiana, James was born on May 20, 1970, son of Donald and Dolores (Lowry) Smith, who survive.

James enjoyed many things, including fishing, nature (especially Ten Mile Road), and spending time with his family.. He was employed by Heco in Burns Harbor, Indiana.

In addition to his parents, Donald and Dolores, James is survived by two brothers, Thomas Smith, of North Judson, and William Smith, of Valparaiso, Indiana. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Central Time at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home in North Judson. Colleen Hickman will preside. Friends may call from 1;00 p.m. until the time of services on Saturday, Aprill 12, 2025, at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home.
