James Eugene Brantley Obituary

Mr. James Eugene Brantley, Sr., age 90 of MacClenny, Florida passed way Saturday, June 12, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Walkerton, Indiana and had lived in MacClenny, Florida for the past 32 years. He served in the U.S.. Navy for 32 years until his retirement in 1974. He then worked as manager of the sporting goods department for Wal-Mart in MacCleny, Florida for many years. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. In his spare time, he enjoyed making and repairing model airplanes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Brantley, his daughter Pamela Sue Brantley and his parents, Charles and Violet Brantley. He is survived by five children, James Eugene Brantley, Jr. of Portugal, Jeffrey Allen Brantley and Rodney Leon Brantley both of Jacksonville, Florida, Kathy (Bob) Hagan of Glen St. Mary, Florida and Donald (Amanda) Brantley of Macclenny, Florida: one sister, Kay Chiaro of Indiana: two brothers, Dick Brantley of Walkerton, Indiana and Kent Brantley of Kokomo lake, Indiana: 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr Brantley will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, June 16, 2021 in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, Macclenny, Florida. Following the service, Mr. Brantley will be forwarded to the Braman and Son Memorial Chapel in Knox Indiana.


 


Graveside services for James Eugene Brantley will be held Friday, June 18, 2021 at 3 PM at Round Lake cemetery in Knox, Indiana with a Military service to be held just prior. Braman and Son Memorial Chapel of Knox, Indiana is in charge of local arrangements.
