Francis (Mike) Moore

Francis (Mike) Moore, age 79, of Knox, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Brickyard Care Center in Valparaiso. Mike was born on March 6, 1945, in Charleston, South Carolina, to the late Francis M. and Evelyn (Gilbert) Moore. Mike lived in Starke County for most of his life.

On June 6, 1964, in Knox, Indiana, Mike married Lois Collins, who survives. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he later worked as a millwright at Ford Motor Company, 

Mike enjoyed many activities, including golf, going to the casinos, traveling to Florida, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also dearly loved his pet cats.

In addition to his wife, Lois, Mike is survived by four sons, Michael, of Winamac, Indiana, and Lonnie, Greg, and Scott (Rachel), all of Knox, two sisters, Margaret (Charlie) Dahn, of Iron River, Michigan, and Kaye (Leonard) Rumsey, of Hillsdale, Indiana, 12 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren. 

In addition to Mike's parents, one brother, John Moore, and a sister, Jean Smith, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time, on Friday, March 22nd at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox. Friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. Central Daylight Time until the time of services on Friday, March 22nd at Braman & Son. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in North Judson, where military graveside services will be conducted. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Mike's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
