Floyd D. Burton Jr.

Floyd  D. Burton Jr., 73 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024 in Knox, Indiana.

He was born Wednesday, December 13, 1950 in Laporte, Indiana, Son of the late Floyd Burton and the late Eunice(Cox) Burton.

September 12, 1970 in Hamlet, Indiana, Floyd married the former Linda Johnson, she survives him.

Floyd was US Army Veteran.  He was a member of the Knox Center Township Fire Department and a member of the Honor Guard.  He enjoyed being the crossing guard for Knox Community Schools and watching NASCAR.  He also enjoyed hanging out at Wayne's oil & lube.  His greatest passion was spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He worked as a supervisor  for Indiana Department of Correction .

Surviving are  his Wife, Linda Burton of Knox, Indiana, Son, Tim(Jennifer) Burton of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Susie(Chuck) Wieringa of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Emily Burton of Plymouth, Indiana, 3 grandchildren, Sister, Sheryl(Anthony) Barricks of Palestine, Texas.

He was preceded in death by parents Floyd and Eunice Burton and brother Gene Burton.

Friends will be received 4 PM to 8 PM, Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, Indiana.

Services will be held at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Monday, September 9, 2024 at 1 PM with Rev. James Adcock officiating.

Interment will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery, Knox, Indiana.
