Douglas Stacy Obituary

Douglas Perry Stacy was born May 30, 1950 at Holy Family Hospital in LaPorte, Indiana.  He passed away October 27, 2023 in Culver, Indiana.

Doug was united in marriage with Heniretta Rowe in June 19, 1971 in Denham, Indiana.  Two Children were born of this marriage.  Angela Dawn Stacy(Todd Douglas Flagg) and Corey Douglas Stacy(Jasmine Rose Clemons).

He is survived by his two children and twelve grandchildren: Cody Michael Stacy, Vance Douglas Flagg, Hudson Drew Stacy, Lincoln Celeste Stacy, Ethan Corey Stacy,  Jensen Douglas Stacy, Cohen John Stacy, Oaklen Jase Stacy, Boden Rylar Stacy, Larren Rose Stacy, Tanner Douglas Flagg and Trevor Daniel Flagg, all of Knox, Indiana and one great grandson Hayden John Stacy of Florida and his sister Linda J Fort(Micheal) of Indianapolis, Indiana and brother Glenn Allen Stacy(Janet Chambers) of Goshen, Indiana.

He was preceded by his Parents Thurman Stacy and Polly Stacy, grandparents William Stacy and Nancy Fugate Stacy and Perry Henderson Stacy and Margaret Mullins Stacy, one great granddaughter Mikinzie Dawn Stacy and his uncle Arthur Paul Stacy whom was more an older brother to him and numerous aunts and uncles.  And several cousins.

Doug was a friend to all.  He was well known in his hometown of North Judson and was an enthusiastic supporter of North Judson Bluejay sports teams throughout his lifetime.  He graduated from NJSP in 1968 after participating as a member of Bluejay basketball and football teams.  He was employed by NIPSCO in coal handling department in Wheatfield, Indiana for more than thirty years.

Doug was a fan of NASCAR racing and attended numerous races in Indianapolis speedway, Daytona,  Talladega and Kentucky raceway from 1994 through 2022.

Family meant more to Doug than anything else in the world.  He was always the first to arrive at the annual family get together and the last to leave.  He never missed any family get together until the last yer of his life.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Braman and Bailey Funeral Home in North Judson, Indiana.

Services will be held at Braman and Bailey Funeral Home in North Judson, Indiana on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 1 PM with Rev Larry Clemons officiating.

Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in North Judson, Indiana.
