Devona Joyce Slavens

Devona Joyce Slavens, 85 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 in Knox, Indiana.

She was born Monday, September 20, 1937 in Hamlet, Indiana, Daughter of the late William Romine and the late Clara (Hyatte) Romine.

Devona enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, crosswords and doing cross stitch.  Her greatest passion was spending time with family and her granddaughter.

Surviving are Daughter, Mary Beth (Federico Soto) Slavens of South Bend, Indiana, Granddaughter, Elena Soto of South Bend, Indiana, Sister, Zola Ferch of Hamlet, Indiana, Sister, Mary  Ann Awald of Walkerton, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Slavens and parents William and Clara Romine.

Services to be held at a later date,  Braman and Son Memorial Chapel of Knox, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.

Interment will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery.
