David R Hays

David R. Hays, 87 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, October 28, 2023 in Laporte, Indiana.

He was born Monday, February 24, 1936 in Arcola, Indiana, Son of the late Roland Hays and the late Mary(Conrad) Hays.

David was a member of the Knox United Methodist Church and enjoyed the Talking Books Association.  His greatest passion was spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He worked as a truck driver.

Surviving are Wife, Marilyn  Hays of Knox, Indiana, Son, Steven(Sharon) Hays of Port Charlotte, Florida, Daughter, Rebecca(Jay)  Johanan of Piney Flats, Tennessee, 10 grandchildren 13 great- grandchildren, Step-daughter, Cheryl(Burlie) Stacy of Knox, Indiana, Step-son, Daryl Reed of North Judson, Indiana, Step-son, Gary(Jackie) Reed of Culver, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by first wife Barbara Hays, son David Hays, daughter Carolyn Ann Hays, parents Roland and Mary Hays and siblings.

Celebration of Life service at the Knox United Methodist church, Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 11 AM,  Braman & Son Memorial Chapel of Knox, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.

Services will be held at Knox United Methodist Church, Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 11 AM.

Memorials may be made to the family.
