David A Drane Obituary

David A Drane, 82 years old of Winamac, Indiana, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025 in Winamac, Indiana.


He was born Monday, November 15, 1943 in Grovertown, Indiana, Son of the late Walter Drane and the late Maude (Frazier) Whitesell.


July 8, 1984 Dave married Vera Hensley, she preceded him in death on september 28, 2002,


David was a member of the NRA and the Golden Eagles.  He enjoyed collecting guns and shooting.  He loved his horses Kachina and Mokina,  his dogs Shawnee and Gunner and his cats Stubby and Snow.  His greatest passion was spending time with his family and grandchildren.


He worked as a Iron worker  for US Steel .


Surviving are Daughter, Deana(Harold)  Collins of Plymouth, Indiana, Daughter, Janeen(Keith) Berndt of Plymouth, Indiana, 4 grandchildren 10 great- grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Drane, parents Walter Drane and Maude Whitesell, brother LeRoy Drane, sisters Violet Nelson and Lucille Drane.  


Friends will be received 12 PM till time of service at 1 PM CST, Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, Indiana.


Services will be held at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 1 PM with  Pastor Billy Bope officiating.


Interment will follow in the Oak Park Cemetery, Knox, Indiana.


Memorials may be made to Starke Co Humane Society.
