Daniel E Bendt, 76 years old of Knox, IN, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, Friday, May 2, 2025 in Knox, Indiana.

He was born Monday, January 10, 1949 in Gary, Indiana, Son of the late Frederick W. Bendt and the late Ruby Fern (Daniels) Bendt.

June 13, 2007 in Winona Lake, Indiana, Dan married Mary Kessler, she preceded him on May 5, 2016.

Dan enjoyed listening to music, cars and reading.  He loved to operate the Cat D-10 bull dozer.  His greatest passion was spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He worked as a Steelworker  for Bethlehem Steel .

Surviving are Son, Daniel F. Bendt of Walkerton, Indiana, Daughter,  Joyce (Josh) Baugh of Hamlet, Indiana, Daughter, Kathryn (Charles) Galbreath of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Linda (Jeremy)  Brantley of Walkerton, Indiana, 7  Grandchildren: Summer Brantley of Walkerton, Indiana, Autumn Domelle of Knox, Indiana, Patrick Sheridan of Hamlet, Indiana, Angelina Sheridan of Hamlet, Indiana, Joshua Baugh of Hamlet, Indiana, Albert Baugh of Hamlet, Indiana, Owen Bendt of Walkerton, Indiana and One Future Great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bendt, parents Frederick and Ruby Bendt. 

Friends will be received 11a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2025  at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, Indiana.

Services will be held at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 1:00 pm.

Interment will follow in the Oak Park Cemetery, Knox, Indiana.

Memorials may be made to the Center for Hospice.
