Forrest Fishburn, 78 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away  Friday, February 22, 2019 in Valparaiso, Indiana, surrounded by his family.

He was born Wednesday, July 10, 1940 in Winamac, Indiana, Son of the late Dale Fishburn and the late Ruth Louise Fishburn(Behrens).

February 17, 1962, at Bass Lake, Indiana, Forrest married the former Patricia Anne Lotz, she preceded him on June 2, 2017.

Forrest was a member of the Our Redeemer Lutheran church in Knox, Indiana and a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Satsuma, Florida. Forrest was the past president of the Bass Lake Property Owners Association and former Assistant Chief of the Bass Lake Fire department. He was the former owner of Fishburn's Marina at the south end of Bass Lake for many years. Forrest was retired from Godfrey Marine. Forrest was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Forrest's greatest passion was spending time with his family and grandchildren..

He worked as a small business owner for Fishburn Marine .

Surviving are Daughter, Lorraine & Cody Meyer of Plymouth, Indiana, Daughter, Kimberly & Roger Slavens of Jacksonville, Florida, Grandchild, Lauren Slavens of Jacksonville, Florida, Grandchild, Bowen Meyer of Plymouth, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Fishburn and parents Dale and Ruth Fishburn.

Friends will be received 4 PM to 8 PM, Wednesday, February 27, 2018 at the at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, Indiana.

Services will be held at Our Redeemer Luthern Church, Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 11 AM with Pastor Eric Gawura officiating.

Interment will follow in the Highland Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the youth organization of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

My deepest condolences to the family of my cousin Forrest, especially daughters Lori and Kim. I have many fond memories of visiting you in Bass lake. Your Dad was always so nice. You are in my thoughts and prayers and I am sending hugs for comfort. With love, Jill Linker Knight.
