Melvia Jordan, 88 years old of Knox, Indiana, passed away surrounded by her loving family Sunday, February 2, 2020 in South Bend, Indiana.

She was born Wednesday, March 4, 1931 in Salt Lick, Kentucky, Daughter of the late Richard Williams and the late Lydia(Reynolds) Williams.

May 21, 1983 in Knox, Indiana Melvia married Burl "Dick" Jordan.

Melvia enjoyed fishing, yard work, tending to her flowers and sitting on the porch watching her birds. In the evening, she enjoyed going for car rides. She loved playing her guitar and singing. She was a great mother and grandmother and always loved to give great advice. Melvia was always worried about making sure everyone got enough to eat and enjoyed taking care of everyone. She always had the time to listen and teach her good values. Melvia never knew a stranger, enjoyed meeting and talking with people. Melvia's greatest passion was spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She retired from Knox Community Schools, where she worked as a custodian.

Surviving are Son, James and Robin Myers, of Urbana, Missouri, Daughter, Linda Howard(Bryan Cavender) of Knox, Indiana, 14 grandchildren Crystal Bullock, Pam Bailey, Lonzo Jackson, Kim Galbreath, Chet Elder, Justin Salyer, Billy Myers, Debra Bastardo, Shelly Garcia, Lina Hessling, Russ Myers, Alisa Everitt, Tracey Becerra, 39 great-grandchildren 38 great-great-grandchildren, Sister, Norma Salyer of Winchester, Kentucky and special friend Jim Mullins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl "Dick" Jordan and daughter Sharon Salyer Jackson, sons Ralph and Robert Myers, grandson Shane Hurt, great grandson Austin Elder and 7 brothers and 4 sisters.

Friends will be received 4-8 PM, Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, Indiana.

Services will be held at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11 AM with Pastor Brandon Martin officiating.

Interment will follow in the Round Lake Cemetery.

So very sry for your loss. She was very nice, loved to talk. She always asked me n Michael if we were hungry. She loved her family very much. I am so glad that I got to meet her. May she rest in peace.
