James Leo Risner, 50 years old of Rensselaer, Indiana, died Sunday, February 4, 2018 in Rensselaer, Indiana.

He was born Sunday, May 21, 1967 in Knox, Indiana, Son of the late Ellis Tank Risner and the late Myrtle Bell(Butler) Combs.

On May 4, 2003 in San Pierre, Indiana James married the former Michele Cain, she survives him.

Jimmy enjoyed working on cars, collecting stamps and antiques. Jimmy was always the jokester. Jimmy's greatest passion was spending time with his family, wife and children.

Surviving are his wife, Michele Risner of Rensselaer, Indiana, Son, Adam James Risner of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Kristin Risner of Knox, Indiana, Son, Damon Gray of Anderson, Indiana, Daughter, McKenzie Gray of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Brother, Ellis Tank(Jenny) Risner of Warsaw, Indiana, Brother, Chuck(Sharon) Risner of Granger, Indiana, Brother, Roger(Monica) Risner of Plymouth, Indiana, Brother, Frank(Nicole) Risner of Elkhart, Indiana, Sister, Shirley Lutrell of Plymouth, Indiana, Sister, Rachel(Jim) Spence of Culver, Indiana, Sister, Jan Deno of Rensselaer, Indiana, Sister, Brenda Dexter of Rensselaer, Indiana, Sister, Judy Kuyrkendalll of Rensselaer, Indiana and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by parents Ellis Risner and Myrtle Bell Combs, brothers Danny Risner and Bobby Bailey, sister Mary Jean Risner  and nephews Matthew Risner and William "Billy" Butler.

Friends will be received 4-8 PM, Friday, February 9, 2018 at the at the Braman & Bailey Funeral Home, North Judson, Indiana.

Services will be held at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home, Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11AM with officiating.

Interment will follow in the Highland Cemetery, North Judson, IN 46366 at a later date.

My thoughts and prayers are with all the family and friends.. Jimmy was a great guy,, like a little brother to me for years. I remember his nickname from Frank was Thin Man,, lol Looks like he out grew that a bit. He was always funny and a good sport. May he rest in peace and enjoy seeing his family that went before him.. RIP Jimmy!!
