Bill Rautio was born on January, 5 1955 in Dayton, Ohio, the first of two fraternal twin brothers born to Reuben Rautio and Lyyli(Ervo) Rautio.  Bill passed away on October 4, 2016 at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Richmond, California following a heart attack at his home in San Pablo, California.

Bill worked as a machinist in Atlanta, Georgia.  Then he moved to California to be near his brother Jim.  Since around 1987 Bill worked as an HVAC facilities engineer in big conference hotels in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Berkeley, California as well as at a golf resort in Lajita, Texas.  He retired two years ago and had planned to move to Bloomington, Indiana.

Very charming, Bill was quite the talker, never met a stranger, and easily found his way around a new city.  Bill loved his cars and he shared the Rautio/ Ervo family love for photography.

Bill is survived by siblings Gail Bogart(Frank) in Goodyear, Arizona; Richard Rautio(Judy) in Dayton, Ohio; Susan Rautio-Dietz (Jim) in Bloomington, Indiana; Steven Rautio in Alfred, Maine; Karen Burgett in Bloomington, Indiana; Liisa Rautio in Bloomington, Indiana; nephews Doug Bogart(Gaylene), Rick Rautio(Pauline), Shane Rautio, Eric Burgett(Lori), and Breshan Weaver (Sondra) and niece Lynnette Bennett(JR), as well as 12 great-nieces and great-nephews and 2 great- great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by one great-nephew Benjamin Rautio, and by his twin brother James "Jim" Rautio, who died exactly twenty years ago to the day before Bill.

Visitation is from 10 to 12 noon at Braman and Son Memorial Chapel in Knox, Indiana on Saturday November 12, 2016.  A memorial service officiated by Rev. Bill Breeden will be held at noon followed by a brief graveside service at Oak Park Cemetery.
